Join us on the farms of your local producers this summer to learn about their operations, challenges, and programs! This month, we will be learning from Anne Genson, owner of Sprountin’ Up, about her work at her farm at 519 Hickory St, Fort Collins, CO 80524. As well, there will be education around their work with Garden of Oz. We will be there Wednesday, September 6th from 4-6pm for a farm tour, education hour, and networking. Getting to know your farmer is just one of the many ways you can get more involved with your local food system!
Food systems play a vital role in our society, encompassing the production, processing, distribution, and consumption of food. Their importance lies in their impact on multiple dimensions of our lives, from food security to public health, from greenhouse gas emissions to water pollution. Thus, the proper functioning and sustainability of food systems are not only crucial for individual health and well-being but also for the preservation of our planet's resources and the mitigation of climate change. Join us in learning about your local food system and the importance of buying local!
